have just taken new friends to bali zoo, after visiting there myself last february when I was overawred with the up close and personal experience ,the beautiful gardens and the fact my kids could actually hold and touch so many animals. But you know what second time around I got passed the selfish feeling Ive had of actually being face to face with these animals and actually reaching into cages to touch them and I do agree with you other guys I can now see the cruelty you see in keeping these animals so restricted and can actually see now why these animals especially the lions and tigers really do look so sad and pace up and down with no where to go. I feel guilty now for having that elated feeling when I first saw them and taking more friends there to gawk at these poor things but I also have to wonder what situation they would be in if noone goes -how much would they be fed or taken care of if staff where put off?I guess theres no easy solution here only to say if you do visit zoo they have comment book there if everyone wrote exactly what they thought and how they recommend changes maybe even writing to the government office in charge maybe some changes would be made due to it being a major tourist stop for tourists and locals too? What do you other guys suggest and maybe we can get a pettion or some action going to change it somehow???
