and nothing to be scared of. They have a little device that can scan for any traces of explosives. Just save the tampertel tags until after the check and don't bother with plastic wrapping. Think about it this way. It isn't that they specifically think you have explosives in your bag but they want to be sure that NOBODY can take explosives onto YOUR flight. How is that a bad thing? It made me feel more secure.
