I would certainly call the Airport you are leaving from. I rang once as we were taking a block knife set to Bali and they said ok in Suitcase, but you would have to declare it. We also put back to Sydney some big Balinese knives as my husband is Balinese also and wanted to bring back the big sharf knives with carved handles. I would just declare everything, then you have no probs.
