Friday 30th June 2006

Since the weather was so windy and the water choppy, we decided to give Nusa Lembongan a miss, in the end I decided I didn't want to waste a whole day out on the water anyway. So we chose to do a watersports package at Nusa Dua. The guy in the hotel business center arranged it for us. We paid 400 thousand each, which included parasailing, snokelling, banana boat, jet ski, visit to turtle island, and lunch. If you don't like heights you can change the parasailing to extra snokelling time.

We did enjoy the day, however the snokelling part wasn't that great (the reef trips would probably be much better) the current was pretty strong, and just where people were snorkeling there were local fisermen, so you can imagine there weren't many fish. Lunch included a choice of Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng or Club Sandwich and a soft drink. We were picked up and returned to the hotel by the company. Our day started at 9am, and we returned to the hotel about 1pm.

Once back at the hotel, we continued swimming in the 'river pool' and just relaxing. On the first night my boyfriend somehow hurt is foot, we think sprained it while walking in the sand, so we decided to get a foot massage each.. for both of us it cost 600thousand.. I know it was expensive at the hotel, but it fixed the problem.. for dinner that night we stayed in the room and ordered room service.

Saturday 1st July 2006

Saturday was a lazy morning, spent waking up late and having a late breakfast, over the last few days more and more guests were arriving at the hotel. We contacted another driver for a half day to take us to Tanah Lot and just a drive around the place. We got to Tanah Lot about 3pm, we weren't really interested in seeing the sunset. Wandered around that area for about an hour or so and then went back to the Kuta area to have a looksie.

It was full of cars again, due to everyone wanting to get a place for sunset, but we just wanted to do a drive by tour for the moment. Anyway after 12 years, its amazing to see how much the place as changed, all the shops used to be like little tents with tarps only, and now they are proper little shops... checked out the memorial... and the other which is now a car park, where u can park for 5000rp. So we just continued on, and went back to the hotel again for a dinner show at 7pm

Saturday night at the hotel was the Kecak Dance and Dinner, this cost us Rp 1million for 2 of us including show, drinks and dinner, which was anything from nasi goreng, to steak, to grilled lobster, fish, prawns, soups, pastas, Balinese food, suckling pig, salads, desserts, satays.. and you could eat as much as you wanted, and keep going back for more. Expensive but well worth it.
