hi,
i would suggest as a midwife, to take her hand held record with her so is she births early then the local hospital/birthing centre has a copy of her care. when arriving let the hotel doctor know that she is pregnant and what gestation. contact the local birthing centre im told that there is a very good one in denpassar or contact a local midwife prior to arriving to let them know that you are in bali. The Australian Midwives association may be able to help with this request. your sister may also have to take with her such things as umbilical clip and sterile scissors and cord clamps to assist the midwife (IM unsure of what they have in their birthing kits). as you know babies can be born at anytime from 36 weeks gestation this is considered term due to dates being wrong ect. i would also ask my local gp or where i was to birth if i could get a vial of syntocinon for 3rd stage delivery of the placenta to prevent any post partum bleeding. but above all make sure your sister drinks plenty of water and gets lots of rest as she will be very tired during this time. she should also make sure that she stays in a property that has airconditioning as she may not be able to take the heat during her last stages of pregnancy. above all enjoy and im sure that all will be fine. one of my ladies is going to bali for one month soon but she is only 20 weeks pregnant at this time. i hope your wedding goes well and you also enjoy yourself. you may contact me off list if you need to i will check here again
