Hi - yes we are back in cold on Geelong. Had a great time in Bali and were quite happy with the melasti. We had room 219 - pretty much opposite the main pool area. It is a long story but we were bumped off our original direct flight over from Melbourne (should have arrived in bali at 12.30 lunch time), had to go via perth and ended up getting to the hotel at about 10.45PM. Not happy Jan. So were all a bit tired and not thinking straight - so took the first room no we were offered. (Much to hubbies disgust). When we first took that room we though it would be noisy - being opposite the pool area and fully intended to look at changing it the next morning. We were actually really happy with it as it was about half way from the street and the beach. Last time we had a suite closer to the beach area but this is also closer to the restaurant and they do have theme nights with gongs, loud music etc. So we were quite happy - being right across from the pool and it was very quiet the whole time. The pool was deserted by evening anyway.
It certainly was not full and I cant remember when you are travelling but I am positive you would have no problems at all requesting a particular room when you get there. The fact was that arriving late at night they basically werent interested in moving us that night - too hard!
Things were pretty quiet although the mbr seemed pretty popular. Brekkies were OK - but wore a bit thin. We ate out at zanzibar a couple of times for breakfast and they were out of this world.
Skip lunch/dinner at melasti - yuk is all I can say.
Feel free to email me with any particular queries you might have. We had some fantastic meals out - I can fill you in. You MUST go to the flying piano - brilliant.
