so precisely what does what a driver cost in australia have to do with anything at all??? apart from the fact that everything here costs a damn sight more than it does in bali including both the cost to buy a car and the petrol and insurance being more expensive.
The facts are that the "average" balinese waiter/worker in a hotel or restuarant earns around rp 20,000 to rp 30,000 per day which makes the quotes of rp 450,000 per day very expensive indeed compared to the cost of providing a vehicle and petrol, and i bet just about all restaurant staff etc would gladly do the job for a fraction of what some drivers are charging, and yes i do know the cost of petrol has gone up and yes i do drive all the time when in bali so i do have a very good idea on costs per day for fuel.
