as I have promised the Corby's that I would protect them, but this is the situation. Schappelle has definitely stopped seeing visitors, not because she is nasty or anything, but because she was sick of being treated like a tourist attraction, also she was getting a lot of religious freaks etc. The guards even let a footy team in there to gawk at her, and she does not need this. The guards only do it to make money for themselves. No need begging or pleading with the guards to see her, as the family has a secret system so Schappelle knows who is at the jail. The guards may take your money, and they may let you in, but Schappelle will not come out of her cell.Her father or Mercedes, or Mercedes husband Wayan visit nearly every day, so the best idea is to meet them outside the jail (usually early afternoon) and give anything to them to take in. Schappelle really appreciates letters of support, but because of too many loonies, her father Michael now scans these first. The quards often take her food items, water etc too, and Schappelle has to buy it back from them.
Now, with the Bali 9, I am not as much in the know with their families,but last week they were not taking visitors. Michael Corby and the parents of some have become a bit close, as they all wait outside the jail together, so again, my advice would be to try to meet the parents outside first, before trying to go in.If you do try, the going rate is 20 000 Rp for each of the 3 guards. Make sure you leave any valuables outside with a driver etc, and don't take anymore money in than the 60 000. Visits are for 15 mins, but you can usually buy extra time from the guards. No visiting allowed on Sundays, and they are now cracking down on Saturdays.
