Zanzibar is not fantastic for food. Just that the area there is popular as it is beachfront. I have tried most of the restaurants there, they are all decent but not raveable. :). I did like the Seaside Cafe though, it used to be Cafe Warna. Great smoked calamari and sushi.
Again these are all bistro type food joints more than Indo.
