Why don't you just send your stuff to Uganda and leave the rest of us who are grateful to Garuda for our extra 10kgs to take things to Bali. Also Garuda is the airline of Indonesia (as a whole) not Bali, so are concerned for the airline as a business. Air Paradise allowed excess both ways so was not allowing for paid freight. Garuda has a very tight freight schedule which shows up in winter on flights to perth when it has to offlaod baggage to take on extra fuel in case it cannot land in Perth due to fog. If the airlines allowd everyone the amount of excess you expect they wouldn't get off the ground. Be grateful for what you are allowed. The Balinese are more than grateful for anything you give them. And yes, I take very little over for me and fill my suitcases with clothes, books etc. I also pay for Business Class which gives me extra allowance.
