You are greatful because they are NOT charging you for excess baggage. The stuff/clothes you are taking I imagine is stuff you DIDN'T PAY for . It will cost you a lot more to take a bag of second hand clothes to Uganda - off you go - and then there's not much to buy there except a few baskets and beads. You copped what you deserved - you appeared ungrateful, bagged the airline out and then tried to rationalise it out with a few poor arguments . I don't think people wre having a shot at you personally just your logic process. Cheer up - it wouldn't bea forum if we didn't cop a difference of opinion.
