is a quality worthy of praise, but there are many issues which affect the process. Others have stated that it may be a better option to buy the goods in Bali and that is probably going to be a cheaper option as well as contributing to their economy. We took over stuff that is difficult to get in Bali, mostly quality bras that Mrs. Spudz' friends had supplied. These were given to a local lady in Singaraja to give to people specifically in need. Also they didn't weigh a lot.
I tend to pack very little for myself and acquire what I need once I'm over there.
I also have concerns re weight on aircraft. I have mentioned this before and I would prefer to know that the safety of the aircraft hasn't been compromised by creative accounting in the weigh-in. This is more of an issue though on the return flight when folks have been on shopping extravaganzas, the weight gets negotiated down and their carry-on luggage looks way more than the allowed 7kg- I've never had my carry-on weighed. I plead guilty to this on earlier trips- it made me think about what I was risking...but now I stick to the allowance.
Have a good holiday and good onya for being compassionate.
