Europe last year and managed to get exit seats with unlimited legroom on all 4 sectors - veeery happy :)Close to the bar too....bliss.We had no one beside us on 2 sectors.
We went to the customer relations desk after check in and requested the seats. It may help that my husband is 6 foot 6 and to an asian airline that is a very tall customer I guess :)
Worth a try I reckon.
PS - be ready for the dirty looks as other passengers squish into their normal seats...I did feel a bit guilty for a minute or two but it passed after a while (LOL)
