Never saw the room you are talking about though, didn't really see any building going on, but that means nothing cos they knock things up so fast!!
Trying to remember the room number we stayed in I think it was 310, anyway it was ground floor with the pool right outside.
I found the rooms a little tired and the bathrooms a bit mouldy smelling. The main big restaurant above reception was closed due to renovations they said, so the only one that was operational was the one near the poolside. Very limited menu and boring, hardly anyone there at noght time which was a shame as the atmosphere around the pool at night was nice. What the arrangement with the rooms is there are four rooms all different types( QS, Twin etc) and they all have one central lounge in the centre of these four rooms, hard to imagine, but all the rooms are closed off. That is good if you have a group or family becuase you will utilise the lounge but we didn't really and the aircond was so archaic, but the air con in the rooms was great. It is a very friendly hotel right in the middle of Legian, the entrance laneway ( well lit & good security) is more or less opposite Poppies Lane 2. On that corner is the money exchanger which was great because he was really honest.
My sister in law did loose alittle small money and a Calvin Klein T Shirt but we caouldn't prove it, it wasn't the regular cleaner it was the casual one.
I am going in a few weeks and staying elsewhere, but this place is Ok and some peolpe love it, for me it was about a 5
Hope this helps...nessie
