We have arranged for two Balinese staff to come to Oz.. and had three friends stay with us on another occasion.
It really depends on "where they fit in Bali..
Ie, our staff had completely diff experiences, as did the three ladies that stayed, as they were business people on a working holiday, and very independent..
About 7 years ago, we brought our domestic staff to Oz for a 5 week holiday, she wasn't really interested in being a tourist, we had to force her to go on little trips with us.
Last year, another crew member accompanied me on a trip when we had to arrange a medical evacuation for my father. Wayan absolutely loved it here, went out with Cracker on a couple of occasions, he visited the kids school, actually, we felt that we didn't do enough with him.
He got a great buzz when we were shopping in Coles,, waiting at the check out, Wayan said "that lady over there is looking at me", as I was laughing at his comment, she came over and said she thought she had recognised him. Turned at she had had lunch @ our place a few weeks before, and Wayan must have chatted to her group. Small world.
But don't stress, and don't try to overdo it, Just driving around is an experience, looking at diff houses in diff suburbs, markets, your local school, especially if the school has an Indonesian language program. Throw a party, and get him to prepare a Balinese feast.
