you want to register your sim card so that you can keep the same number in the future. From late April, I think it is, all sim cards in Indonesia will have to be registered.
This has come about because of the use of mobiles to set off bombs.
You may initially have to register a new sim card and provide your ID, for us a passport. That is what the Proxl shop wanted from me as ID when I registered my existing sim card.
