if with optus try a telstra or vodafone sim. If the phone can still be used it isnt locked. If you cant use it try calling or smsing someone then it is locked and you will need to contact the carrier here in australia to see what they will charge to unlock it. Sometimes there is no fee.
So you dont have to wait to get to bali to try a sim card.
