that Bopgirl told everyone about ages ago - IF you phone IS a pre-paid with anyone but Vodafone OR is Sim locked.
Is to pick up the cheapest Vodafone that you can because they are NOT Sim locked & WILL work in Bali with a Bali Sim card.

At the time when it was first posted - Vodafone had a $49 phone on sale with $30 work of credits that you could use in Australia ,either before you left or when you got home.

Unfortunately the 2 Vodaphone phones we bought at this time have since been stolen so next trip we will just buy a couple more on whatever is the cheapest Vodafone deal at the time.
