- Kusamba which is on the south east coast, really not far from Sanur. It is also the 'off-the-beach' port for the islands of Nusa Penida/Lembongan/Ceningan which is an amazing sight in itself.
If you wander down the beach a bit towards an old shed in the sand hills someone will soon attach themselves to you and ask you if you want to see the 'house', which is what they call the salt works and the shed where part of the process takes place.
It will cost you a few thousand in tips afterwards but well worth it if you are a bit curious about an age-old and natural process.
