We have stayed at both Jayakarta and Melasti. Keeping in mind you have 2 small children I would go for Melasti as much smaller hotel and less walking between pool, beach, restarant and room. The suite rooms in the old section would be great as they have a nice verandah and lawn garden area and the room itself is huge...many of these rooms have been renovated over the last 12 months. The suite rooms in the new section would be nice too but dont have the verandah area and are right beside the pool. So depending if you want some space away from the pool with the little ones I would go for the old suite rooms. Ask for ground floor and newly renovated. Melasti is still an easy walk to restarants. Some nice ones back along the beach walk near the Jayakarta or the other way to Padma St/ Garlic lane area.
