Most of the Candi Dasa beaches eroded away years ago. But there is a nice safe white sand beach right next to Resor Prima. This hotel is also very reasonably priced. Traditional style brick and tile. A nice clean double room with aircon, TV, fridge etc. Neat garden and pool. Easy for kids to get into the water off the beach at most times of the tide. Safe low key snorkeling on live coral with plenty of fish, not far out.

I don't know if they have family accomodation, but a double room with adequate breakfast should not be more than AU$25 a night and may be less if you are there for a few days. It may do you some good if you mention Rex and Emiko from Australia, the friends of Roby and Denise from France.

This hotel is in a little fishing village just a few minutes walk down a narrow sealed road through banana and coconut groves. You go to the Amlapura end of Candi Dasa main street and turn right just past Legends Cafe.

There's a warung near Resor Prima, Warung Pini, owned by a lovely lady, Wayan. Very pleasant and reasonably priced. A little shop for water, Coke, Bintang etc. If they're closed, go around the back and they will open up just for you. A very good driver at Puri Oka, next to Resor Prima. Wayan Manek [Nick] 081 8353501. To me, a very pleasant little part of Bali.

I don't pretend to know everything about the Candi Dasa area, but I have stayed around there several times and may be able to help if you tell me what kind of things you are looking to do etc.
