1986 My brother and I on our first trip pulled into a compound to buy paintings. Being told the whole story on how he wants to be a professional painter with his original one off's etc etc. Payed far too much for them but even now when I see one of those old Bali paintings (with the boat and sails) I smile to myself. I think that we all get "ripped" at some stage and it is all a part of the charm and mystic that keeps us going back. M.
