In 1999 my friend and me bought a packet of Marlboro Lights in front of the SC for 80.000 Rp. It was our first evening in Bali and the next morning we discovered the Circle K's and their cigarette prices: exactly 6.800 Rp for a pack of Marlboro Lights. Now we knew why the evening before the Aussies in SC laughed at us so much as we told them about our cigarette deal on the adventurous Jalan Legian. In fact it's all very adventurous when you are in Kuta for the first time.
Last year in October it was our 8th trip and meanwhile we quit smoking by the way. :-)
