Hi, I have been married to an Indonesian guy for 3 and a half years. We live in New Zealand and go to Bali whenever we can for as long as we can afford at the time! I stayed once for 6 months, but believe me, it is really difficult for westerners to work in Bali. If you are an english teacher, you have a good chance of getting a job. I know two English girls who are teachers in Bali. I also know a girl who sells timeshare - but this is not easy. If you have lots of money!! - you could open your own business (I have two friends, both married to Indonesians who own businesses in Bali - one a restauarant and the other a garment business). You can't stay in Bali for longer than 30 days unless you have a social visa (sponsored by an Indonesian - and you can't work on this visa)) or a business visa (again you can't work on this visa only 'conduct business'). As you can see it is not easy to work in Bali, but if it was, it would be too crowded with westerners!!. Good Luck. Enjoy Bali. I have been twice this year for short trips and won't make it back again until the end of next year. Boo Hoo.
