Why would you want to sleep in it?
Yes, you can wear one to breakfast at your hotel. You can walk on the beach in one, also doubles as a towel after a swim and handy to lie on if you don't like the feel of the sand.

Kuta Ken mentions etiquette. I don't quite know what he means. Some people believe in the old saying, "It pays to advertise". Maybe something along the lines of when you are being introduced to a lady and you say, "I'm very pleased to meet you". And she says, "Yes, I can see you are".
