I returned on Friday night from spending 8 nights with my sister-n-law in Bali. We had a excellent time & I won't bore you with a day to day diary of what we did. I will mention a few things which someone might find usefull however.
1. We stayed at Hotel Santika in Tuban. This is a lovely Hotel small but not to small hotel with friendly staff. I wouldn't recommend it for families however but couples it was great.
2. Bali Budaya Tours:0361 975557 081 338 365 025 bulanindah@dps.centrin.net.id This was a fantastic tour & I would say my highlight in Bali. They picked us up at our Hotel at 6.30am & we didn't return to 6pm but it was well worth it. The guides are all so attentive. Your got B/fast & lunch fro only Rp360,000 per person. I booked before I left Aust so I got the date I wanted but you can easily just ring when you get to Bali & book.
3. Driver: Wayan Merta: 081 138 6761 wmerta@indo.net.id www.bali-pardise.com/see-bali. Wayan is a really lovely guy & speaks excellent english & a extremely safe driver I would highly recommend him.
4. Tommy: +6281 1398921 Tailor He made me a Leather Jacket & some dress trousers for my husband all excellentlly made. Tommy will come to your Hotel & measure & deliver. He does work from a shop but if you go direct through him you get a better deal !!.
5.R2U: No 5, Jl Padma Utara Kuta This is a shoe shop with shoes packed to the ceiling & just 2 shops down they have a bag shop which are also packed to the ceiling both these shops a worth a visit & are both fixed priced.
6. Almas Enterprises: Pearls & beads shop. Next door to R2U forget getting your pearls on the beach go here I paid Rp 30,000 per strand for fresh water pearls. They have every colour, every size. You tell them what you want & they make it up for the next day. It is fixed prices but they will bargain a little. this shop is unreal!!!!
7. Zanibar: On the beach front just south of Double 66 in Seminyak The best Breakfast in Bali Rp 25,000 for a hugh Breakfast.
I think thats enough & I hope I wasn't to boring. To all you lucky people who are going soon have a great holiday, don't shop to much & find time to relax & don't forget it's fun to bargain but the balinese are doing it tough & anything under Rp 7.500 is less than $1
