I will be returning to Bali again in 10 days. As I am staying for 60 days, I apply for a 60 day tourist visa which is obtainable at the embassy for a cost of AUD$60.
If you want to stay longer (which I have done in Java for over 10 years), you will have to obtain a Sosial/budaya visa from the embassy. The cost for the is AUD$125 and is for a period of six months only and MUST be renewed every month at a cost of Rp500,000.
To obtain a Sosial/Budaya visa you will need a letter from a sponsor in the place you intend to stay. They have to obtain the necessary form from the Immigration Department, fill it out, attach fotos and send it to you. This then, along with a sponsor letter you take to the Embassy here and fill out the regulatory forms.
