I can't actually swim, lol, but I don't let being a chubby chickie keep me out of the pools in Bali. I don't really care if someone sees me in the water and wants to call Greenpeace - that's their issue, not mine, lol.
I just didn't really have any desire to hit the pool this trip for some reason. It might have had something to do with the vast number of noisy splashing kids spending all day in the pool this time. The hotel was much fuller than it had been on previous trips and I like to have a relaxing wade rather than sunbathe or splash about. Generally on past trips I've only ever stayed in the pool for half an hour or so and usually just have a float near the edge. It's a bit hard to do when kids are dive bombing all over the place!
Also, I was in a standard room which was a decent hike from the pools. It was just easier to have a cool shower if I felt overheated.
We'll see if the swimmers still fit me when I go back next trip - I'm sure they'll get used then!
