A few years ago a whirlpool in my winter holidays made my blond hair terrible green, nearly green-blue, like mould! Back at home I tried really everything beginning with solarcare conditioner and shampoo, aspirin, vinegar,... I called all hairdressers in Munich and they all told me the same: There's no way to get the green out of my hair except for coloring it dark brown. After that it looked awful, some sort of grey but not brown. I was desperate and a few days later I got back to the hairdresser to brighten it again but after that all my hair broke and they had to cut it really short. I was crying for the whole day and swore never to go in any swimming pool! Next week I'm going to Bali. The first time we got a accomodation with pool! What shall I do? Wearing a bathing cap and look ridiculous the whole day?? That's why your question and all the answers and hints were so interesting for me.
But I thought only colored blond hair gets green in pool water. Is your daughter a natural blondie or little bit "highlighted" like I am? I made the experience that the highlights become "greener" than the rest of my hair.
Please keep me up to date about your research in this absolutely delicate subject!!
