We were invited to the full moon ceremonies at Pulaki and Melanting (on the north coast) a couple of years ago. Very interesting. We were treated like visiting dignitaries. I confess that I didn't understand much of what was going on. We were given water to sip, then splash on our heads. Three flowers were used as offerings, blue, white and red, to represent the Hindu Trinity. Quite dramatic scenery with the full moon out. "Parishoners" just sort of came and went, as opposed to coming at a specified time, like church services in the US. We were near the altar and could see a little monkey paw sneak out from under the altar cloth and snatch some of the offerings!
