Using the 3 wheeler was fine with the footpaths. We would cross the road and walk on the side of the road that had the lowest curbs, but the high curbs weren't so bad we just lifted our little guy over. I think using a cheapo stroller would have been a real effort though.

We kept our little boy in his pram right up until 10 minutes before boarding & you hand it in at the gate. Once we arrived in Bali the prams were all next to the baggage carousels so they must take them off straight away - same thing when we returned home, held on to pram until the last minute. We didn't cover the pram because we used it, we did however use locks for our luggage & small lockties for the smaller pockets on our luggage.
