We have a favourite driver who you could trust- and could trust to look after your purchases. His name is Made Wira Sanjaya, but of course we just call him Made. His cellphone number is 081-3387-63718 and his email is madebagus2002@yahoo.com. He is a young guy, about 23 years old, but has impressed us with his excellent driving and good English. (Made's English is so good you can hold an ordinary conversation with him and it would only be unusual less-used words that would require clarification). He is based in Seminyak and drives for a 'boss' - and is so popular with clients that he gets to drive the nicest vehicles in the fleet. We paid him 250,000 for a short day and 300,000 for a long day but have tipped him more because he is just such a great driver. (You can expect to pay a good driver about 300,000 for a whole day in peak season, and could negotiate 250,000 in a quieter season as times are tougher then with fewer tourists around). It would probably pay to email ahead if you want him for a whole week as he has a lot of clients who use him every time they come to Bali, so leaving it till you arrive it would be 'pot luck' if he was available.
