I checked with AA on my way out on the 01/09/05 and was informed that they will allow up to 5 kgs over per bag but if it exceeds this amount they will charge for the entire weight exceeding the 20KG limit.

Seems pretty fair to me.

I just wish that the airlines would start clamping down on those inconsiderate individuals carrying so much over the 1 piece at 7kgs onto the plane as cabin luggage.
