Flew AP on Saturday 27th August for 13 nights at the Ramayana in a deluxe room. AP flight was great, seating was 2 - 4 - 2. Lunch was good, I had chicken mushroom in a rice type thing and hubby had a beef sandwich (like a lebanese roll) After that we were given drumsticks and a packet of chips or a kit kat. Ramayana were there to pick us up and straight to the hotel. The hotel was great they are doing renovations to the lobby so they have got a temporary one at the moment, but did not hear anything or disrupt us is any way. The deluxe rooms were lovely and I paid for an upgrade to the Club Resort rooms for our last 2 nights, but will talk about that later.
Quickly unpacked and went down the beach to say hello to all our friends (locals). One of them took us to Macro and bought a few drinks chips and lots of goodies for "my orphanage" kids.
The next day went to Jati II Orphanage and saw all of my kids, hugs all around. We left our goodies and asked the Director if I could take 2 children out for 2 days (1 night). I thought he might say no but he agreed. My sister and my Dad and his lady friend arrived, so we had our welcome drink and some lunch and then walked down to Poppies 2 and up to the Memorial site. None of them have been to Bali in years so they had a bit of a look around.
My daughter is getting married on the Thursday so my son in law and his parents and my daughter and us went to Bubba Gumps for tea.
A place with a lot of atmosphere, but a bit on the pricey side for Bali and if you buy a certain drink all the waiters come running up to your table and sing and muck around. But it was good and we went for a drink at another place after that.
I had my driver pick up the 2 girls from the orphanage, Yuli and Kadek at 9.30 and when they got their, off we went to Waterbom Park.
It was a reasonable price to get in I thought and also the prices of lunch were ok. I got my daughter and her friend to try out the slide to see if it was OK for me (ha ha) and for the 2 orphanage girls because they can;t swim but where you come out from the slide you can stand so that was ok. They loved it and did it again. So we progressed to the next scarier slide, this one had a tunnel so it was pitch black half way down but good fun. The only bad thing is having to climb up the 89 odd steps to get up the top!! Then we did the lazy river where you sit in a tube and just float down the river under a few little waterfalls etc. After lunch we had a bit of a lay in the sun and then went back to the hotel. That night myself and my other daughter had to go the hen's night for my youngest daughter, so my sister and my husband looked after the girls for the couple of hours that we were gone. Ramayana had put an extra bed in our room and they slept in that. Ramayana did not charge me for the extra bed which was very good of them, I just had to pay for breakfast for them the next morning.
Part 2 coming up.
