Just back after 7 nights stayed at the Bali Rani excellent value and location. Centro Mall had just about everything you wanted. The Bread Shop and Starbucks was a daily ritual. Four of us did the cooking class at the Tegal Sari in Ubud, RP175000 each and the hotel arranged for our transport(can't remember price but is was under RP300000) excellent! alot better than Casa Luna. I requested before we arrived in Bali we didnt have traditional Balinese food, but the basic dishes that we could relate to, sate', lumpia, nasi goreng, mie goreng, steamed fish parcels just to mention a few. Only 4 of us in a class, hands on with the preparation. We had the Chef from the Sate'Bali restaurant in Seminyak-Nyoman Sudiyasa is his name, and he does classes at his restaurant as well.
Found here was alot of Roxy, Billabong & Quicksilver copy clothes in the markets, but you had to ask for it, as is was not on display - we found some good quality at Mandy's down a side street just off poppies 2 opposite the Barong Hotel.
We did just about what everyone else writes about Bali so I wont bore you all with that. Back to work on Monday and start saving for next years holiday :)
