Not a personal recommendation (just can't seem to get the hang of the stuff Lol), but one of the glossies that I treated myself to last time I went to Bali tested all the self tanners and rated the one you get in Priceline as the best. "Bronze up" I think it was called. I did look for it for my daughter and it is in a brown tube and cost around $20.
What I can get the hang of and does me until I pick up a bit of colour is Palmers cocoa butter range with a shimmer and tint in it. Looks weird when it first goes on but doesn't dry your legs like fake tan. Not permanent, so if you make a mistake can just wash off. Leave it for a few minutes b4 dressing in anything light tho. You will find samples anywhere that sells Palmers.
