Caught up with a couple of Bali Forumites just by being nosey if thats what you want to
call it. Most were from Perth and staying at the Dewi Sri. Another from closer to home who has
asked me to remain anon for now and I will respect that wish. Wife is all "shopped out" and we
have spent some time at the hotel just chilling out. Another few Bali friends rang and we will catch
up with them in the next few days.
Hoping to go to Banjar "air panas" later in the week for a refreshing reviver. This is by far the
cheapest and possibly one of the best natural hot water springs in Bali. A fair way to go on the
way to Singarajah but I think its worth it. Only paid 8000Rp each whereas it costs $30US at Tabanan to Bali.... Watching the Rugby on Saturday at the Cafe Etnick in Jl Legian as the
Reunion Club is playing AFL at the same time (boring !!!!). New Zealand beat South Africa so must watch next weeks game when we play NZ. Final shopping day on Tuesday at Alpha Supermarket. Picked up a terrific little mini portable shaver for myself, 60,000Rp ,and a nifty mini water heater for boiling water also only 60,000Rp. Over the last week the Rupih has hit 7800 to the Aussie dollar most mornings so we are really doing well. Alpha is a great little supermarket worth a trip just to look at, but go to the loo before you go - very Eastern type and really grotty with no paper. Mary found another shop she had to go to - Hardys at Sanur. Very similar to Alpha with a mini Geneva upstairs.Got as ride home in a green Bemo - the highlight of the day. Meeting Gabrielle, who is from Perth, on Friday. We met her last year and again we are looking forward to catching up with her at Seminyak. Putu and our Bali family came and saw us again and we had to say our goodbyes. Mustini and her husband also saw us again and goodbyes were said to them as well. Hard to say our goodbyes this time as it is very likely that we will not be back again. My health is a little topsy turvy at the moment and I have been unable to travel with insurance for the last 5 visits here. I realized this trip that if things happen for the worse, I will be in big trouble. I may have to limit my travels within Australia. I will not worry about insurance as I have been bitten by them twice some years back - they like taking your money but when it comes to paying out, they will find a way to get around shelling out.
We met up with Gabrielle for a few hours at the Hotel Legian in Seminyak. If that is how the other half live, I could handle it for a while. Thanks to Gabrielle and Jenny for the grand tour.
One thing that is really wrong with going on the street nowadays is the aggressiveness of the Time Share floggers especially the ones from the Royal at Jimbaran Bay. Someone must put a stop to this before someone really gets hurt. Time to leave on Saturday night with the flight departing 1am on Sunday. Had a great trip away but looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.
We were well and truly overweight on the way home and it cost us just over $100 Aussie Dollars but we didn't mind. We had 64Kgs but the girl said they allow an extra 10Kg per passenger over their normal 20Kg, which is nice to know, and as it was my birthday on the morning we left, she dropped the extra 4 and just called it an extra 20Kg. Still a bargain for $100 we thought.

For perhaps my last trip to Bali it was a real hoot. Love the place and the people and it will be my loss not to return.....
