Babi Guling last night was terrific. At a cost of only 40,000Rp it wa a bargain.
Full roast pig with a reasonable selection of salads and the obligatory rice plus
fresh fruits made the meal one of the best and cheapest we have had.
Next couple of days was spent shopping for ourselves and grandkids back home.
Good selection of clothing and DVDs available at bargain prices when you know how to
bargain properly. We got some small sized soccer shirts for the littlies that cost us 25,000 each
or about $3.30. Good quality and a great price to boot.
Had a visit from our Balinese family on Saturday morning. I Putu, Ni Putu, Tanya who is almost 4 and
Aditya who is 15 months old. Great to see them all doing well. Both Mum and Dad work in separate Hotels
in Tangjung Benoa and an auntie looks after the kids when they are both working the same shifts. Gave them all
presents from Australia and a little extra as well. We are meeting them all again this week for an outing somewhere.
Saturday afternoon was shopping again. Just the odd bit of stuff from Poppies Lane. Watched Australia get done
again by South Africa at the Reunion Bar on Saturday night then drowned my sorrows at the Sendok restaurant
in Jl Legian. Sunday - quiet day but off again to Bali Aussie Pub for Roast Dinner again. Another great night although we left earlier than last week. Couldn't keep up the drinking pace. Next few days we shopped for both the grandkids and us at Makro,Centro,Alpha Supermarket and Mata Haris at Bali Galleria inGraha (Near the roundabout) . Good things to be said about each shop but one thing in common - take your own toilet paper and be aware they were all dirty. Even Centro that has been opened less than 1 year was pretty filthy. Bought another white 'onyx' dragon for myself on Jl Legian from a friend I met last year who has a small stall selling the white stone onyx items. Bought a terrific one last year that weighed in at 2Kgs and now this one that weighs almost 5Kg. Heavy hand luggage again. This only cost me 120,000Rp which is a bargain. If you want anything from him I can give you his address and tell him Mister Bob, dragon man sent you.
