That doesn't mean you have to waste it. There are plenty of others who could use it.
All I'm saying is that it is a symptom of a sick society when people are so indoctrinated into the concept of brand loyalty that they are prepared to spend money to side with their favourite corporation and instill that brand loyalty in someone so young they barely walk.
I'm not criticising people for doing this, I'm just saying that the corporate plan is evidently working. If people are aware of and happy with this system, fine. But if they are acting without being aware of how they got to that stage, then I think they should be made aware of their options before they automatically turn their children into corporate spokesbabies.
And yes, we all spend money on products made by corporations. All too often there is no choice. We let it get to this point, but that doesn't mean we have to accept that it will always be this way. People accept corporate monopolies and cartels and defend them by saying that it's democracy. In fact, it is the opposite. We don't get to vote for CEO's. We can vote with our dollars, but if there's no option but to buy from one or another corporation, it's a pointless vote. And that's a much bigger issue that can fit here.
But in some cases, there are options. I suggest they be fully explored before making a decision. What's wrong with that?
