Along the new south coastal highway to Klungkung. Heritage buildings.
On to Padang Bai, the ferry port for Lombok. Apart from the ferry terminal like a Balinese fishing village from way back.
On to Candi Dasa, maybe time for lunch, plenty of choices.
Up the coast road to Amed. Very undulating and scenic. You go past the Ujung Water Palace and bay after bay full of fishing boats.
Stop for a snack and a look in Lipah village.
Back to Candi Dasa on the inland road, past beautiful mountain/valley scenery and rice terraces. Have your camera ready. Stop at Tirtagangga Water Palace, before Candi Dasa.
Another day go north through the mountains towards Singaraja. You may feel colder than you ever expected to feel in Bali. Stop off at GitGit waterfall [or if your driver knows the far less visited waterfall system before GitGit, then see that instead].
On to Lovina and other interesting places.
Both can be done in rather full days. Fair cost about 300,000 per day, including petrol. Get the driver a cool drink when you get one for yourself. Invite him to have lunch with you. He may or may not accept, but if he does he will not take advantage of your offer by ordering something expensive.
