Really, it should last until it grows out. Then I guess it would be a reverse of what you got when you permed your hair when the ends were curly and roots straight!!
The solution smells the same, and you would end up with straight ends and curly roots!! As I said I had at least a couple of months growth (around 2 inches) of hair left untreated at the roots. I'm too old to wear my hair flat to my head, and you wouldn't know it hadn't been done, so I guess my hair is like what anyone who had it done properly would look like after about 3 months. Guess if your hair was super curley it may look weird as it grows out, but with my wavey hair it isn't apparent.
It is super super straight. If I tuck it behind my ears all day it doesn't even kink. If I pin it up at the back it sort of sticks up as it is not as soft as it was (although is getting better).
If I straightened it with my irons I think it would make the hair shaft smoother and look shinier, but I'm not willing to damage my hair any more. As I said I am only 2 weeks post treatment. The only other thing that used to happen with perms was that they relaxed, and not sure if this will also. Anyway, Ryan said 6 months.
Other thing was it took 3 hours.
Hope this helps, be prepared for the pain when they straighten it for ages before neutralising LOL.
