We are leaving for our 4th trip in a couple of weeks and last year I bought 9 watches for myself and 5 for friends. I got most of them from Bagus Watches stall which is just past Matahari department store and next door to Dalangs restaurant. They were about $7.00 each and my hubby bought 10 for himself and friends. These were between $10.00 and $12 each. They are all still going strong and have had to change the batteries on a couple. I actually still have some that are still running which I bought on a trip to Bali in 1987. Even though they are cheap, I have always found them to be very realiable. Bagus Watches also has a proper shop up the road and round to the right from Mataharis.
Obviously they are not water proof but you get what you pay for. We were really disgusted last year to hear an Australian women screaming at one of the girls on the Bagus Watch stall because she had gone in the pool with her watch and it had stopped working. She was so rude to the poor girl and she was just standing there taking it. In the end, we piped up and told the women to get over it and stop being so rude. What did she expect from a $7 watch anyway.
I must say that everytime I wear one of them someone always comments on how great they look. My hubby even built me a special holder to put them all on when we got home. He will have to add to it this trip when I buy up another truck load.
Have a great trip
