Bumi Ayu is a lovely little hotel, set off the main street. It's around a 5 min walk to the beach front.
It caters to mainly Aussie tourists in their later years. That said ... myself and our children, at the time 12,8,2 1/2, were more than happy there. If you have kids and they tend on the 'feral' side I would be choosing somewhere else, mainly as the older couples to tend to like their peace and quiet.
Free afternoon tea is served daily, breakfast if is included is lovely. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
It is an older hotel, therefor can in some peoples mind be a little 'tired', however on the up side the rooms are huge. Again because it's an older hotel the troical gardens are well established.
I asked a friend re the comparison with Bumi Ayu and Swastika.... she said if you can afford the extra $$ then go for Bumi it is much nicer.
Hope this helps.... I wouldn't hesitate in staying at Bumi again.
