and bought our wedding rings there. My wife who is pretty knowledgeable about jewelry and I went to Gianyar which is about a 30 minute bemo ride east of Ubud. To make a long story short, I was very skeptical about the quality, purity, etc. My wedding band is 22k and if I remember correctly weighs 12 grams. I believe I paid about $75 US for it. On our honeymoon to the US, I stopped in a local jeweler and asked him what the ring was worth. He took a look at it and said I don't see many rings like this - he offered me over twice what I paid for it ....... of course I declined :) !!!!
