Hi Paul Hobart,
You lucky b******d, but hey I can't complain just got back from 3 months in Europe!!!!!!!
As for restaurants in the Nusa Dua area your best bet is to head up to Tanjung Benoa (AUS$2.00) in a cab and start at the front of the Novotel and head in the direction of Nusa Dua. Plenty of places to choose from.
Personal favourites are:
Casa Luna - great to sit out under the stars
La Scala - new one that looks a bit like the Opera House from the road
Casablanca - impossible to miss from space due to all the lights
Nelayan - always do a great grill
CC's - Owner and the Barman are always up for a drink and a laugh later in the night
There is also a strip of restaurants outside the southern gate in a small village called Balu Village. Was a really happening little spot with some great shops as well until the bombing killed almost all the trade in Nusa Dua overnight. On last visit was still trying to get itself up and running again but hopefully all the restaurants/shops are open again.
Enjoy your winter break
