Went rafting with 13 & 16 year old last week on the Telaga Waya River. We meant to go with Bali International as there are less steps but ended up going with Bali Rafting. Cost 900,000 rup which is $125 for 3 adults and 1 child including lunch. There were steps but they didn't bother us. I suppose we are of average fitness. I had sightly sore calves for a couple of days. We found the trip quite exciting with quite a few low trees to go under, plenty of churning water and rocks. I would not take children younger than mine on this trip as it was quite rough in places probably due to the rocks being more exposed as its not the rainy season. We were going backwards when we hit a rock and my daughter was half thrown out of the boat onto a rock. My son who was sitting next to her grabbed her just in time to stop her going out. With all the rocks , being out of the boat would not have been good. She scrapped her arm, wrist and back and she lost her paddle. Gave me more of a fright than her I think.I felt this activity, although great and I would recommend it should be taken with the knowledge that people can and do get hurt.
