My daughter tells me somebody was asking for recent update on Puri Bambu so here goes.
We stayed there for 3 nights on arrival in Bali at the beginning of this month. This will be the third time we stayed there. We booked over the net. and paid $US40 per deluxe room for 2 people including Americal Breakfast. The area it is in is actually called Kendonganan not Jimbaran as everyone thinks.
Good Points.
So close to the airport and they pick you up. We were in our room 45minutes after landing!!!
Absolutely peaceful. No sellers etc. When you walk out of the hotel you are in the middle of a Balinese village and just a few hundred metres from the fish cafes. That is the group of cafes nearest to the airport Sharkey's etc. We prefer the next group away from the airport which would be about 10 minutes at a slow stroll. These are the original ones and this is the Village of Jimbaran.
Cost at Denas- We paid the following
Squid Rp.30,000
Clams Rp.30,000
I fishRp.45,000
2 large Bintangs Rp.30,000
1 small Bintang Rp.10,000
1 arak attack Rp.25,000
Total Rp.170,000
This was more than enough for 2 as we took half the fish home and had it for lunch the next day!!!
This is a very nice smallish hotel. The rooms are big and clean and have Aircon, the quiet variety. T.V. with movie channel. Fridge. Bathroom is big and everything works o.k. The restaurant serves very nice food and at a reasonable price. The pool area is noce and has some shade. Swim up pool bar. 2 massage ladies by the pool or in their little massage room or in your own room.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bad points.
There are none as regards the hotel but if you like shops etc. there are none however Kuta is a Rp.25,000 taxi fare away.
I think for that reason 2 or 3 days is probably enough but it's a great place to begin the holiday in a relaxed way.
Hope this helps.
