Bahasa Indonesia is the official language of the archipelago and is taught in all schools as a common language.

In Bali 99% of people speak Bahasa Indonesian but the local language is Bahasa Bali.

You will have no problems finding people that want to speak Indonesian with you. Its great fun and they can help you learn all the local sayings etc that you wont be taught in class.

In turn you could also speak some english with them too as they love a chance to practise their english.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

Pete.
