I'm quite sure that I would have left before a week was up. I can tolerate physical things wrong with a room...but I really won't tolerate staff with attitude like that. And the manager...I'd write straight to Ramada corporate about being denied access to the manager and the lack of response from him. Sounds like the only thing good about your stay at the Ramada was the good rate you negotiated...and who cares about a good rate if the stay ends up being miserable.
I am glad the other place you stayed was nice, and have so enjoyed your reports!
