One good advice is that if you want a cheap and good hair braiding, do get it from the shops along the beaches(Kuta hs a lot of sweet ladies offering to braid your hair) The hotels also have but they tend to be abit more expensive although not that much diff). I had a bad experience once. That time in Dec 2004, I had very long straight hair till waist length. I was sun tanning on the stretch of Kuta beach and walking on the beach later, I was approach by this Balinese lady who offer to do my hair for 20,000rp. (and that is after much bargaining) So I sat down and three ladies came and did my hair. It was a bad experience. They pulled my hair and I felt like my hair was being forced from my root. So I told them nicely to loosen their grip. They said okay and continues. So after a few moments, my hair was done. And that was not all. I kept my braids on for three days before I give up and unbraid my hair. It was so darn tight that I had two sleepless nights in the hotel. I was forced to sleep sideways or downfaced. Cos the tight braids is hurting so much. I felt that I treasure my hair much more after it was finally unbraided..haha
So from then on, I vow never to braid my hair again. Nvr..too painful.
